Ok genius, I’ll play along… Lemmy did a “horrible job” keeping users from reddit because they’re not trying to keep users from reddit. Why would they, when there is zero need for it?
Quite frankly I like Lemmy because it’s less crowded than Reddit. That means less bots, less scammers, and less half assed trolls like yourself.

I think a lot of us came here because we were unhappy with reddit. I know I did, and I’m pleased with the result. I haven’t been back.
If someone is happier using reddit, they should use reddit.
I use both, of course I’m using a third party client. Everything seems much better there, even mods, which is surprising to say the least.

They don’t ban your entire account without reason. Rules are much more clearer, mods are professionals who don’t use alts and no power trip

While you’re busy avoiding ‘junk,’ maybe consider elevating the quality of your contributions instead of just sidestepping the challenge. Substance over silence, perhaps? :)
Certain users, I would say, and I kind of agree that most of the people were probably annoyed by the difficulty to discover content, the DDoS on the large instances, broken federation, etc.
On the other hand, how could it have been otherwise? Lemmy is a benevolent open source project, out of the 40k monthly active users there seems to be around 50 willing to contribute to the code (I’m counting the mobile apps, Mbin, Sublinks in there).
We can only be happy with what we have now, and think how to address the issues we have progressively.

Reddit and Twitter are full of docile idiots who will put up with any enshittification of their status quo. But that’s not something Lemmy can change or is responsible for. Early adopters have left to look for new services, the passive will stay where they are.
Platform-shaming people who have other things to care about than how evil their source of memes is, that just doesn’t feel warranted or helpful. More like counterproductive.
It’s important to me - I stopped using reddit, I quit FB after all their genocide enabling, and I never got into Twitter. But insulting people doesn’t help them understand the importance of decentralizing power.

- I came from Reddit as did a ton of other users I see making this place awesome who have remained on Lemmy the entire time with no signs of leaving any time soon.
