I’m not arguing that an average old person’s mental capabilities are deteriorating. But this is a candidate that has presented their views and that’s what you should be evaluating.

If I disagree with 2 people who’s ages I don’t know and one turns out to be Bernie and the other is a young candidate, they’re on equal footing on that one particular issue.

So let me ask you this: Do you prefer a young president you agree with 20% or an old one you agree with 50%?

You said Bernie’s too old, but not even once WHY he should not run. You’re just guessing there’s something not right about his mental well being.

Both can be true, but there are people under 62 with the same.positive characteristics of Bernie.

It’s almost like the age part is not relevant.

You should apologize for not being able to take criticism(wether good or bad faith), as someone is criticizing your message for a left wing cost, and your super mature response is “Hurr, durr no you’re right wing”. You’re on Lemmy where most of the users are leaning left and the commentar might be as well, but that’s not good enough for you.

In this case if they have evidence, they should be investigated as is being done.

My critique is on the general sense of tolerance/intolerance as that can be vague, although unjustified incitement of violence or violent action is a good place to draw a line. However what is a call to violence can be tricky to parse sometimes.

Sure, but your methodology for determining what is an anti-democratic idea should be really tight, before you raid/arrest people.

No one wants murders in their society, but showing that they did that action is more important than stating that an action is wrong/anti-democratic/immoral etc.
