I usually eyeball my rice so I use the finger method which is,

Rinse and drain your rice in a sieve first

Add it to the pot and level it off

Put your index finger on top of the rice and add cold water till it touches your first knuckle

Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and cover until cooked

You can always buy a rice cooker but I think it’s good to learn how to cook without specific instruments, it also cuts down clutter in the kitchen.

I’ve had less time troubleshooting Fedora linux lately than I have on Windows

I’m about to reach a point where I just abandon technology. Become a full luddite and let it burn over its own hubris.

Yeah I’ve got an extension for it, it just changes the user-agent string.

I use it on YouTube because for some totally not suspicious reason Firefox won’t play videos but when I spoof it to Chrome everything works fine.

Look into sterilization, you might have to get something for under the lid like go between. But lemon curd, jams, marmalades and pickles can all have a pretty long shelf life if the jar is sterilized properly
