I haven’t seen such enlightened centrism on display for a long time. The Overton window has moved so far to the right in the United States in the past 10-20 years it’s frankly terrifying. One wonders what this guy thinks are the extremist positions.

And when we go over, the talking heads on TV and Very Smart People will blame the electorate for not going to the polls to pick the right guy. Instead of the “leaders” who thought they could carry on sitting in their big chairs and ignoring the concerns of their constituents, because hey, we’ve got them by the balls—who else are they gonna vote for?

The US media is using this sort of language to manufacture consent for yet another war in the middle east. Is this group the de facto government of Yemen? No, they’re just “Houthi rebels”, so we’re doing Yemenis a favor by getting rid of them. Is it a reasonable military tactic to fire on the warship of a hostile foreign power that’s been bombing the shit out of you? No, it’s an “escalation”! How dare these rebels strike first, we didn’t do anything to them!
