Honestly this shit is only surprising to people who think Russia’s illiberalism and antidemocratic reaction is nostalgia for the Soviet Union and not nostalgia for Imperial Russia.
It doesn’t help that so many people dismiss everything bad about the USSR as propaganda.
I just checked and… yes, other countries still have their weapons of mass destruction.
It would feel more dangerous if there was proof. Unfortunately, because it is just Russia, it is more then likely false.
Which I fear is just going to make Russia posturing even more dangerous.
I imagine there are intelligence agencies that know whether it happened or not and if it’s false then that tells them something too.
